Question and Answer

below is a transcript of an email reponding to a zionist (essentially someone who believes all the land including gaza and the west bank of Palestine and the Sinai of  Egypt and the Golan heights of Syria should be for Jews only!) A virulent supporter of Israel

You talk about Israel’s disregard for international law which is laughable. Israel is the only country that abides by international law and in fact goes over and above what is required of a country during war. Clearly you are unsure of what is stated by international law so I have attached a link below to clear a few things up. Israel defends its citizens by all means possible whilst Hamas intentionally uses its citizens as a human shield and puts them in harm’s way.
The examples of Israel blatantly violating international law are too numerous to post here so ive attached as a factsheet. Suffice to say The sources are the Geneva Convention, the United nations, The international criminal court, Amnesty International..its all available at the Israeli law research centre just in case you think international law outside of israel has a different definition.
it is well know that Hamas use civilians as human shields.
Another zionist lie the PR machine pedals.., wheres your proof theres a lot of journalists in Gaza and not one of them has ever reported this, in fact theyve stated this is untrue and have never witnessed it as stated by Jeremy Bowen recently in the New statesman, its only IDF and zionist media, on the other hand Amnesty International has produced a report a 117-page  report charging Israeli forces with killing hundreds of unarmed Palestinian civilians and wanton destruction of thousands of homes finding NO evidence of Palestinian militants using human shields. On the other hand reports ‘On several occasions Israeli soldiers used Palestinian civilians, including children, as “human shields” during military operations, or forced them to carry out dangerous tasks’.What a humane army indeed. By the way dropping leaflets and giving a ‘knock on the roof’ does not suddenly make civilian homes a target or expiate you from war crimes.
Amnesty International, Amnesty International Report 2010 – Israel and the Occupied Palestinian Territories, 28 May 2010, available at: http://www.refworld.org/docid/4c03a821c.html
Hamas is recognised as a terrorist organisation because it’s ethos is to destroy another nation, it doesn’t need Israel explaining this to America or any other country for that matter, it’s ethos makes it a terrorist organisation and the fact that the population of Gaza voted them in tells you a lot. Israel handed back all land to Gazan’s in 2005 from when they had ample opportunity (and plentiful international funding) to build Gaza into ‘the Singapore of the middle east’ (as they put it themselves). Instead, they decided to put all the efforts and funds into weapons to destroy Israel, whilst also making many Hamas leaders millionaires and leaving the people of Gaza to suffer. The destruction of the economy is absurd too. When Israel left Gaza in 2005, the Israeli’s left behind an excellent economy to the Palestinians with well oiled industries and jobs. Hamas said they wanted nothing from the jews and went on to destroy all of it.
Once again look at the facts the only destruction of another nation has been committed by israel against Palestine, in case its not clear a destruction of another nation is called ‘ethnic cleansing’, genocide, which is what israel has been engaged in since before 1948. Youve just stated that “Gazans voted in hamas what does that say,” careful…you seem to be in favour of collective punishment which is contrary to international law..oh yes thats something youre NOT too clued up on.  Israelies have voted in successive right wing governaments that commit war crimes..and beat up protestors that are against bombing gaza, oh and cheer on hillsides when the bombs are dropped…what does THAT SAY! To say Israel handed gaza back in 2005 is not factual, does handing back a territory mean you control its borders, sea, land and airspace. Stop export and trade, destroy water and sewage facilities, stop bricks and concrete entering so the Gazans cant rebuild….oh and massacres and destruction wrought by the Israeli army against a refugee population predominantly on food aid with no army or navy…Id like to see what Singapore looked like under such conditions. Israeli NGO GISHA reports very well on the hell Gazas citizens have had to endure. will you believe it if youre told by another Israeli, or perhaps our own UK parliamentarians such as the Jewish MP Gerald Kauffman as you dont seem to want to hear the truth.
You also call Israel ‘a fascist apartheid state that only tolerates one kind of people’ which is again is completely laughable. How do you define an apartheid state?
Despite Zionists’ denials, Israel is an apartheid state. The word “apartheid” is the Afrikaans word for “apartness” or “separate.” In 1973, the United Nations General Assembly adopted the International Convention on the Suppression and Punishment of the Crime of Apartheid defining it as a crime against humanity, not specific to South Africa. Defined by “inhuman acts” designed to impose racial segregation
and discrimination on a targeted group,The acts specified include denying life and liberty; inflicting physical or mental harm; torture or cruel, inhuman or degrading punishment; illegal arrest and imprisonment;denying basic human rights of education, nationality; freedom of movement and residence; The Convention also
prohibits acts “designed to divide thepopulation…by the creation of separate reserves and ghettos for the members of a racial group or groups, the prohibition of mixed marriages…ALL OF which ISRAEL does.
Once again I attach a factsheet and give other examples below as the descriptions of this are far too numerous for this post.

I don’t think your definition would include Arabs as Israeli members of parliament, muslims able to freely practice their religion and any other religion etc etc.
To use etc etc in a discussion like this is a sign of how weak your arguments are.
Yes youre right Hannen Zoabi is an Arab member of the knesset, who has been attacked in parliament,  and she was only able to vote, not participate in discussions after taking part in a flotilla to Gaza. In her own words “This was a right-wing, racist decision”
Also Israel approved a law that could push Arab parties out. The reason Arab MP barely tolerated is a smokescreen so Israel can keep its decades old argument of being the only democracy in the middle east, an argument that is so tiresome now and ridiculous as other countries poltics dont justify israels terrorism and it is well known the other countries have been under control of post colonial dictators put in place by previous colonisers and funded to the teeth by the States i.e the case of Egypt.
With regard to being able to practice freely, this is up for debate there are many articles documenting Palestinian Christians being stopped from practicing particularly in bethlehem, and attacks on mosques and churches and Palestinians not allowed entry to the dome of the Rock by Israel.
Also you’re sporting the same old propaganda again, Blacks were allowed to practice religion freely in South African aparthied too,it doesnt mean you excuse aparthied..religious minorities practicing inside Israel  has nothing to do with Occupation, blockade, war crimes and aparthied which is what the international community has tried to sanction Israel over 53 times. So stop trying to deflect the argument.
I note you had nothing to say about that, what can you say, that the entire world is anti-semetic another argument wearing thin now….

Hamas has never indicated that it wants one state for all, just one for itself.Israel is the only state in the middle east that allows religious freedom for all religions, a democracy and free speech.
In 2008 Hamas offered a 10 year truce to Israel and stated it would accept a Palestinian state on only part of the land it claims and Israel rejected it, as reported by Israels own media. By Hamas refusing to recognise Israel as a zionist state doesnt mean death and destruction so stop implying it! Many countries around the world such as Malaysia dont recognise Israel or have any ties with it, it doesnt mean theyre out to destroy it.
Hamas and other Palestinians enshrine  the right of return to their land inside Israel, this denotes one state for all, is that not clear to you.
The term right of return refers to a principle of international law, codified in the Universal Declaration of Human Rights and the International Covenant on Civil and Political Rights, giving any person the right to return to, and re-enter, his or her country of origin. Also there are members of hamas that would accept a state side by side with Israel.
All people in all other middle eastern countries would be more free in Israel than in any other country. I know this because I have lived there.
Have you lived in other middle eastern countries? Wow people would be more free in Israel, really especially considering how Israel treats its black jews… the Ethiopian jews who came to Israel to have a better life and were sterilised! Thats Eugenics and its exactly what the Nazis tried to do….yes im sure everyone in the middleeast would be free in Israel… free to have a family…oh maybe not.
The only people who call Israel an apartheid state are those who have never been. No Israel Arab would describe Israel in this way.
Are you trying to embarass yourself.Scores of delegations particularly from South Africa have been , South African Supreme Court judges, a former deputy minister, members of Parliament, attorneys, writers and journalists. Blacks and whites, about half of them Jews who today are in conflict with attitudes of the conservative Jewish community in their country, they call Israel an apartheid state, they lived under aparthied so no one knows it better than they do and for them to say that, after physically going there carries a lot of weight.
Also when Israeli jews describe it as apartheid youre saying Arab Israelies wouldnt…stop being so ridiculous please.
Israel has never called for the destruction of Palestinians. There are always extremists on each sides, yes there may be some Israeli’s that utter this bile
Those ‘some’ Israelis’ you talk about are members of parliament and senior army figures…Ayelet Shaked is a member of the ultra-nationalist Jewish Home party, which is part of the ruling coalition. She is quoted as calling for the slaughter of Palestinian mothers who give birth to “little snakes.”  critics are denouncing it as a call for genocide. Shaked reportedly stated: “They have to die and their houses should be demolished”.
Israeli Interior Minister Eli Yishai, “The goal of the operation is to send Gaza back to the Middle Ages” . head of the ultra-orthodox Shas party.

Journalist, Gilad Sharon, the son of former Prime Minister Ariel Sharon, in an editorial in the Jerusalem Post on Sunday called for Gaza to be flattened like the US flattened the Japanese city of Hiroshima in 1945 with an atomic bomb.

“We need to flatten all of Gaza. The American’s didn’t stop with Hiroshima – the Japanese weren’t surrendering fast enough – so they hit Nagasaki too.

Enough said on that point or do you want more quotes..
Israel has always excepted a two state solution at every point in history that it has been offered. The Palestinians never have. Even in 2000 when Yasser Arafat was offered 94% of the land he wanted, he refused.
What on earth are you talking about are you making up lies, wheres your source, so after decades of occupation and stealing land the Israelies said theyd give 94% of land back, ludicrous! If youre talking about the Camp david summitt, According to Barak’s offer, the proposed Palestinian areas would have been cut from East to West and from North to South, so that the Palestinian state would have consisted of a group of islands, each surrounded by Israeli settlers and soldiers and would have had to relinquish Jerusalem. On the eve of his departure for the summit, Barak announced five “Red Lines”, which he would not cross under any circumstances. Among them: Israeli sovereignty over the entire city of Jerusalem, No return to the 1967 border, Keeping 80% of the settlers were they are, No return of a single refugee to Israel!!! No  nation would accept such an arrangement. Oh and during that summitt more Palestinian homes were bulldozed by Israel than at any other time, that screams peace doesn t it…
To read more about Israels crimes see below reports by the Israeli Committee against house demolitions led by Jeff Halper.
Israel just elected Reuven Rivlin, a supporter of the settlement movement, as the country’s next president. His opposition to Palestinian independence puts him at odds with the international community.Yes that screams acceptance of 2 states doesnt it.
it is well know that Hamas use civilians as human shields.
Another zionist lie the PR machine pedals..proof please, wheres your proof theres a lot of journalists in Gaza and not one of them has ever reported this, its only IDF and zionist media, on the other hand Amnesty International has produced a report a 117-page  report charging Israeli forces with killing hundreds of unarmed Palestinian civilians and wanton destruction of thousands of homes finding NO evidence of Palestinian militants using human shields. Gaza is densely populated but that still offers no excuse to fire rockets from schools, hospitals and people’s homes.
more zionist lies, the UN completely disputed rockets came from their schools, also hospitals…are you kidding dont you think the patients and doctors would notice and get the hell out the way if the buildings were used to launch rockets…

UNRWA, the UN agency for Palestine refugees, says in part:

Israel’s highest-rating news programme, Channel Two News, has published a statement correcting false claims that rockets were fired from schools operated by the United Nations Relief and Works Agency for Palestine Refugees (UNRWA) during the Gaza war in 2008-2009. The statement makes clear that Israeli officials themselves acknowledged that such claims were false and that there was no evidence to support them.

“We heard this misinformation during the war when there was shelling on and around the Agency’s schools and our main warehouse in Gaza”, said UNRWA Spokesperson Chris Gunness, “but Israeli officials made it clear to the UN during the war itself that they knew claims about militants in UNRWA installations were completely false. Constant, unchecked repetition of this misinformation has been very damaging to the Agency and has produced some very poor and biased journalism, which I will continue to confront. This is the third time in just a few months that a major news organisation has issued a public retraction because of false information about UNRWA.”

Were there rockets fired from the open in Gaza beach when those 4 little boys were blown to smitharines playing football on the beach a few days ago. Israel says it was targeting militants, they were kids…lies, lies and more lies.If Israel lies about this what else does it lie about.
Israel does everything in its power to protect its citizens, It’s only because Israel invests in its protection of their people that there have been few deaths in comparison.
Off course it does, Israels citizens are the army and it needs an army and occupation to perpetuate itself..
Israel doesnt invest, the US tax payer does…
Let it be clear also that when you talk about building on Palestinian land, there has never in the history of the region been an Arab Palestinian state, country, national movement or an attempt to create a state before 1967 EVER.
The land has been Palestine for centuries. If there was no Palestine then where do palestinians come from. Dont be so utterly ridiculous. Shlomo sands an Israeli historian has documented that the palestinians are semetic people and the direct indigenous descendants of the nuemrous tribes that have inherited the land since time began.
The blockade on Gaza came because it was necessary to stop the suicide bombers entering Israel and guess what it worked! You cannot stop a country from defending itself from terrorists. All other countries would do the same. Israel retaliates for protection, Hamas aims to destroy.

Again as you dont have a clue about international law you dont understand collective punishment imposed by the blockade is illegal….and all its done is impoverish Gazans and make the resistance stronger.

Hatred is taught to Palestinian children FACT. There have been children’s TV shows applauding kids for saying when they grow up they want to kill Jews! It’s disgusting. How is a conflict likely to be resolved when the children are taught to hate.

Israeli language and education professor Nurit Peled-Elhanan examined 17 Israeli school textbooks on history, geography and civic studies. Her conclusions stated “The books studied here harness to the benefit of the Israeli policy of expansion, whether they were published during leftist or right-wing [education] ministries” On the occasions Palestinians (including Palestinian citizens of Israel) are mentioned, it is in an overwhelmingly negative, Orientalist and demeaning light: “all [the books] represent [Palestinians] in racist icons or demeaning classificatory images such as terrorists, refugees and primitive farmers — the three ‘problems’ they constitute for Israel”.  “Palestinians are often referred to as ‘the Palestinian problem.’” While this expression is even used by writers considered “progressive,” the term “was salient in the ultra-right-wing ideology and propaganda of Meir Kahane,” the late Israeli politician and rabbi who openly called for the Palestinians to be expelled. Peled-Elhanan finds this disturbing, coming as it does “only 60 years after the Jews were called ‘The Jewish Problem’ ”

Peled-Elhanan’s book is the definitive account of just how Israeli schoolchildren are brainwashed by the state and society into hatred and contempt of Palestinians and Arabs, immediately before the time they are due to enter the army as young conscripts.

Book review: how Israeli school textbooks teach kids to hate by Asa Winstanley

Israel on the other hand continues to send aid into Gaza, medical supplies, food etc and also treats Palestinians in its hospitals. No other ‘enemy’ makes such an effort to help.
Israel blocks aid to Gaza, where do you get that it sends aid dont be so naiive..

According to B’Tselem, the Israeli NGO the siege that Israel has imposed on Gaza has greatly damaged Gaza’s health system, which already had considerable shortcomings. Now, many services and life-saving treatments are not available to Palestinians inside Gaza, and treatment of cancer and heart patients is postponed, as medical supplies and equipment are delayed.

Even some basic necessities, such as clean drinking water and removal of solid waste is not widely available. It is estimated that 30 percent of Gaza Strip residents do not receive water on a regular basis. In addition, many diagnostic and emergency medical services cannot operate because of lack of generators. Statistics from the World Health Organization showed that 19 percent of necessary medicines were lacking, as well as replacement parts for critical equipment and several disposable but necessary items such as bandages, syringes and plaster for casts.

In the meantime, Israel severely limits the amounts of permits for hundreds of patients to enter Israel for advanced treatment unavailable in Gaza. Physicians for Human Rights Israel questioned the legality of the procedure whereby every exit permit from Gaza for medical treatment requires a check by the Israel Security Agency (ISA). According to that organization, in several cases the ISA abused this procedure to pressure patients to collaborate providing intelligence information in exchange for a permit.

Wow that sounds like wonderful provision of medical treatment to me. Have any of the 4000 injured this month needing amputations and emergency operations to cut out shrapnel ended up in Israels hospitals?

I would love to know where you get your information from but it is utterly ridiculous to suggest that the moderates have left Israel and only hardline racists are left. Firstly, where exactly do you think they have gone?

Many Israelies have dual citizenship and are not from Israel so if they dont like a peaceful one state they can go back to their own countries. The ones that left did exactly that went back to the countries from where they came as they didnt like Israel and its politics.

Several studies in Israel and one conducted by AIPAC and another by the Jewish National  Fund in Germany show that perhaps as many as half of the Jews living in Israel  will consider leaving Palestine in the next few years if current political and social trends continue.  A 2008 survey by the Jerusalem-based Menachem Begin Heritage Center found that 59 per cent of Israelis had approached or intended to approach a foreign embassy to inquire about or apply for citizenship and a passport. Today it is estimated that the figure is approaching 70 per cent.

The number of Israelis thinking of leaving Palestine is climbing rapidly according to researchers at Bar-Ilan University who conducted a study published recently in Eretz Acheret, (“A Different Place”)   an Israeli NGO that claims to promote cultural dialogue.  What the Bar-Ilan study found is that more than 100,000 Israelis already hold a German passport, and this figure increases by more than 7,000 every year along an accelerating trajectory. According to German officials, more than 70,000 such passports have been granted since 2000. In addition to Germany, there are more than one million Israelis with other foreign passports.

Zionism enforced by terrorism? These statements are just absurd. Israel was given the land in 1948 by the United Nations. The Palestinians have tried to destroy it ever since – that’s terroism.
These are not absurd they are fact, even though you dont like it, how on earth can you support israel without even knowing its history, youve completely exposed yourself as clueless!
Are you denying the IRGUN existed, they killed british soldiers and boobytrapped their bodies, they also blew up the King David Hotel which was British army HQ, the Irgun, Lehi and Hagana zionist terrorists massacred over 250 Palestinians in Deir Yassin. Even Gerald Kauffman MP confirms this in parliament. Thats why the British turned over Palestine to the United Nations who spilt the land.

I could also name plenty of pro-Israeli arabs – here’s just one excellent example (starts in hebrew but interview is answered in english): https://www.facebook.com/photo.php?v=10152576062954662&set=vb.320149969661&type=2&theater
Who is this person, anyone credible who speaks for IsraeliArabs?Your sources are poor.
You’re right, no other country in the world would behave the way Israel does, with as much restraint and care for Palestinian civilians. Any other country under attack from rocket fire would attack with far more force than Israel has. Imagine if France fired rockets into London, do you think the UK government would just sit back? No, they would go in full force and stop it, as would any other country as they all have the right to defend themselves, the same as Israel does. Peace will only come when Hamas stops the attacks.
There have been no rocket attacks from the West Bank and hundreds of Palestinians still killed, imprisoned, tortured so stop talking about HAMAS as being the only obstacle to peace, its extremely naive.! Also Israel has triggered every rocket attack and broken the ceasefires that were in place…Israel is an occupying force in Palestine. It exercises complete control of the West Bank and Gaza. In other words, Israel’s use of Article 51 as justification for its attacks is null and void. After all, the laws of self-defense have no relevance in the case of illegal occupation because the occupier has control over the indigenous population. How can a self-defense claim be made when a state occupies a land that does not belong to it? The magnitude of Israel’s so-called acts of rocket fire retaliation, do not amount to a justified “self-defense” response. Israel’s military track record clearly illustrates a complete disregard for the Fourth Geneva Convention laws, which extend protection to civilian populations in an armed conflict (this includes occupied territories). It’s ironic that Israel has the audacity to condemn rocket fire by Hamas that, in most cases, it has provoked. This wouldn’t be the first time Israel violated a ceasefire. In fact, a study conducted by Nacy Kanwisher, Johannes Haushofer, and Anat Biletzki “shows that it is overwhelmingly Israel that kills first after a pause in the conflict: 79% of all conflict pauses were interrupted when Israel killed a Palestinian, while only 8% were interrupted by Palestinian attacks.” Of course, this behavior is expected because if the goal is to ethnically cleanse the indigenous population, a lasting ceasefire would certainly get in the way. Perhaps it’s time we reevaluate and define the word “defense”.  “defense” implies a sort of deterrence of an evil, danger, or attack. It is a word that cannot be applied to first-strike aggressors. How can one render their actions “self-defense” when they take the first shot? Israel has been successful in positioning itself in a positive light among the Western world to the extent that Israeli cease-fire violations are ignored and the peace process — Palestine’s only hope of attaining statehood — is continually diminished. Israel’s complete disregard for human life is apparent in their first-strike mentality and it’s time for the world to demand that Israel own up to its war crimes. In the case of the Palestinian/Israeli conflict, the phrase “right to self-defense,” should be reserved for the Palestinian people.
Finally your example is pathetic as France is not under occupation by Britain and it actually has an army unlike Gaza and hasnt been blockaded.
Its so ironic and so appalling that Israel combines fascism, aparthied, ethnic cleansing…  the biggest stains on humanity in the last century particularly. Not my words…Sir Gerald Kauffman, Ilan Pappe, Miko Peled, some more very well known Jewish people, just in case the list I sent you last time wasnt long enough.
if you respond to this please find sources if you can that arent zionist media, and are actually credible. you may have a hard time…
Please please open your eyes. If you actually read whats stated here and look at the sources theres hope, if you keep peddalling zionist lies then let it be on your own consience and when your kids ask you if you knew…as they will in the future, once again what are you going to say.
peace and shalom to you
